Mental health care needs to be delivered differently than physical healthcare. Mental health needs are harder to acknowledge and easier to hide. The pain is a different kind of pain, one that we have convinced ourselves is less debilitating than physical pain. We endure mental health pain better. Until we don’t.
We have a mental health crisis in the United States. Care facilities and mental health professionals are overwhelmed by demand and treatments are often too expensive, lengthy, ineffectual or ridden with unpleasant side effects. We need a different way.
The Sacred Mushroom offers a different way – Psilocybin enhanced group activities that are playful, meaningful, engaging, and communal. We offer a place to exercise your emotions and improve your mental fitness – not unlike the way group exercise activities like jazzercise and palates offer a way to exercise your muscles and improve your physical fitness.
The Sacred Mushroom was carefully curated to be a place or peace, healing and connection. Psilocybin is a dynamic experience and should not be limited to any one modality or framing. Regardless of what shared interest or experience brings groups or individuals to The Sacred Mushroom; our goal is to be a place that inspires healing and community.

Missy was thrust into meditation in 2009 when chronic pain gifted her the opportunity to look more deeply at life in an existential way. What felt like a betrayal of the body ultimately led to the discovery that our bodies are not in the way, they are the way. With a particular interest in rebalancing the feminine and masculine energies, her work draws on ancient wisdom traditions, consciousness, movement, sound and other embodiment practices. She believes this path can be gentle and that play is essential.
Missy is a mindfulness teacher and completed training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Drawing on these tools of insight and compassion, Missy’s greatest message is that there is nothing to fix. When we return to our inherent wholeness we are free to change, connected to the wisdom of the body and the strength of the heart.

I was nervous about trying psilocybin, but the low-dose art night was such a gentle, joyful introduction. I laughed, painted, and felt connected in a way I hadn’t in years. The setting was so safe and welcoming. I can’t wait to come back.
– Sara L., Portland
The Sacred Mushroom treats mental fitness like a fun group workout for the soul. I’ve been to some of their low-dose sessions and every time I leave lighter, happier, and more in touch with myself.
– Jason M., Beaverton
I booked a deep dive one-on-one session, and it was the most profound, healing experience of my life. The facilitator was deeply supportive, the space felt sacred, and I left with clarity I’ve been seeking for years.
– Amanda R., Palo Alto, CA
The combination of psilocybin, music, and community made me feel more alive than I have in a long time. It’s not just about the mushrooms, it’s about the people and the shared joy.
– David H., Vancouver, WA
I appreciate how The Sacred Mushroom makes psilocybin approachable. It’s not intimidating here, it’s playful, creative, and deeply respectful of the medicine at the same time. I felt completely safe and supported.

Mental fitness is real, and these events are proof. After a few sessions, I’ve noticed more ease in my day-to-day life. I’m less stressed, more creative, and more connected to my friends and family.

I’ve done both a low-dose group events and a deep dive, and the range of experiences is incredible. The low doses were light and social, perfect for connection, while the deep dive helped me work through some lifelong patterns. This place is a gift to our community

The moment I walked in, I was blown away by how beautiful the space was. There’s an indoor garden, cozy lounging areas, and even a water fountain that makes the whole place feel like a sanctuary. It’s unlike anything else in Portland.
– Lauren C., Portland
During my full-dose session, I wandered between the music corner, the art space, and the body movement area. It felt like a festival, but indoors and intimate. The views of Portland were stunning, and the vibe was pure magic.
– Kevin B., Boise, ID
I did a deep dive session in one of the incredible one-on-one rooms, and it was like stepping into my own private retreat. The peaceful lighting, adjustable bed, comfortable seating, full wall projection were so thoughtfully designed. The level of care allowed me to fully surrender to the experience
– Maria F., Vancouver, WA
It’s rare to find a place that’s both playful and deeply peaceful. I spent part of the evening painting in the art corner, then relaxing by the water fountain, listening to music drift through the space. It’s a dream environment for exploration.
– Ethan P., Portland
This is more than just a psilocybin center, it’s an experience. The size of the space means you can move between connection and solitude, between laughter and introspection. Every corner invites you to discover a new side of yourself.

The State of Oregon has legalized the administration of psilocybin. It is regulated by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and operated by licensed service centers and facilitators.
No. There are some medical and mental health conditions that are not compatible with psilocybin. These include: (1) anyone diagnosed with active psychosis, (2) anyone with epilepsy or another seizure causing condition, (3) anyone taking medications with lithium, (4) anyone who is pregnant, (5) anyone with certain heart conditions, and (6) if you have been considering harming yourself or others.
The dose (amount of psilocybin consumed) is a function of the purpose of your journey and should be determined in consultation with your facilitator. TSM offers many low-dose and mid-dose events for people seeking less intense experiences.
The Sacred Mushroom™ offers a supported, supervised experiences in our spacious facility with room to roam, activities to engage, and private spaces for alone time.
